Join us for the official Barristers for a Better Bytown launch event on March 31, 2016, at the University of Ottawa, in the Alumni Auditorium of the Jock Turcot University Centre, as we host a screening of “David & Me”. This event is being held in conjunction with the Criminal Law Students Association of the University of Ottawa Law School.

“David & Me” is a documentary about two unlikely friends – a convicted murderer and a young, Canadian filmmaker. David McCallum is 29 years into a life sentence. Despite a mountain of evidence that should exonerate David, or at least grant him a new trial, filmmaker Ray Klonsky and a pro-bono team are stymied by a justice system that is not designed to free the wrongly convicted. When news of a DNA match that fingers a new suspect surfaces, the team thinks justice will finally be served. But they quickly learn their fight has only just begun.

Admission: Accepting donations.  If you wish to obtain a ticket in advance or make a donation, please contact us at betterbytown@gmail.com. (Tax receipts available for donations of $15 or more).
