Comedy Night is Back!

Barristers for a Better Bytown is excited to announce that we are hosting another stand-up comedy night this year.

WHEN:                 Tuesday May 7th, 2019

Doors open @ 6 pm, Show starts @ 7 pm

WHERE:               Yuk Yuks on Elgin (292 Elgin St)

Your Master of Ceremonies, Justice Beaudoin, will once again host what will no doubt be an entertaining evening. Will Mark Ertel give us another dramatic reading? What will James Foord have in store for us this year? Will Hart Shouldice be as funny as James Bocking (or more than)? Come and see for yourself.  Other great performers include Israel Gencher, Solomon Friedman, Ceilidh Henderson and Lorenzo Patino.

Cost is $30 per ticket and all funds raised will support the Law Build for Habitat for Humanity.

The Beastly Ball III: And BOO Goes the Dynamite – Friday October 26, 2018

Our third annual Beastly Ball – The Beastly Ball II: Creepin’ it Real was held at Hooley’s Pub located at 292 Elgin Street. We raised over $8100 for new mattresses for the Shepherds of Good Hope!

First Annual Stand Up Comedy Night – Sunday May 6, 2018

Guests were treated to the comedic stylings of local legal stars Israel Gencher, Mark Ertel, Jamie Bocking, James Foord, Ceilidh Henderson and Lorezno Patino, the night hosted by Justice Beaudoin and Solomon Friedman.  We raised over $3500!

The Beastly Ball II: Creepin’ it Real – Thursday October 26, 2017

Our second annual Beastly Ball – The Beastly Ball II: Creepin’ it Real was held at Hooley’s Pub located at 292 Elgin Street. We raised over $1500!

Ottawa Champions Game – Sunday July 30, 2017

On Sunday July 30, about 60 lawyers, judges, friends and family attended the Ottawa Champions game to raise funds for Operation Come Home.  We had great weather, great food, and were able to see Justice Jack Nadelle throw out the first pitch.  We raised $2000 for the Music Works Program at Operation Come Home.  Many thanks to those who attended and supported this event!

 

The Beastly Ball

The most epic Halloween event of the season – the Beastly Ball was held on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Barrymore’s Music Hall on Bank Street.  Guests attended in their best costumes and enjoyed great music, friends and snacks.  All proceeds benefited the Ottawa Mission Hospice to whom we  pledged $5000 to support their renovations.

On March 31, 2016 – The official Barristers for a Better Bytown launch event was held, at the University of Ottawa, in the Alumni Auditorium of the Jock Turcot University Centre, as we hosted a screening of “David & Me”. We raised over $3000 in donations to support the Tamarack Trades Training Centre.
